Sounds like a nice ride, I just got back from Colorado myself. 1200 out 1200 touring Colorado and the 1200 back. 3600 miles in 9 days.

Me and my dad did 1,200 miles in two days. We rode up to the HD Museum, from KY. We had a blast!! Glad y'all had a great time.

EDIT :: That was on my Night Train. I traded for the bagger almost right after we got back!!

Getting ready to retire in October, can't wait to take a cross country trip with my wife. I really miss our "road" trips. Right now I am just looking at maps and weather to find the best routes and time of year best to go. Good luck with your next trip.

Your trip out for a sandwich sounds very similar to what I did many years ago. Went out for a beer with a buddy, called the wife that night and told her I was in Va. (about 350 mi from home). Told her the ride felt so good we decided to keep going, 3 days later we returned home. I am lucky to have a wife that knows my passion for riding. Getting ready for my 21 day 7K ride to the west coast on 7/5, can't wait less than a week to go. Just turned over 20k on my bike that is not yet 2 years old.

I did a similar schedule last month going from New York to North Carolina. Came north via the Dragon, Cherohala Hwy, Blue Ridge Pkwy, Skyline Drive and then to the Virginia coast before heading home.
