Like you said JM...not the crookedest road in through there, but once at the top...you feel like you are on top of the world. I was on a trike with a trailer followed by twelve 2-wheelers. A couple of them told me that was the only place they can recall riding the yellow stripe in the center of the road on purpose.
We got to the motel and somebody remarked about the road to the clerk. This wiry little lady weighed around 105 pounds soaking wet. She told us she drove a school bus through there when school was in session. I am glad I did not meet her and the bus around 8PM that evening.

Gotta love the W ---> E hiway thru Death Valley (in Apr-May, not Jul-Aug)
Hiway 163 thru Monument Valley
Hiway 410 over Chinook Pass; lunch @ Whistlin' Jack's; back Hiway 12 over White Pass
Hard to believe no one has listed the Kancamangus Highway (rt 112) through the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Simply unparalleled for "perfect" pavement, high speed and low speed banks with tight twisties both steep up and down inclines. Great views of which they can be hard to take in if your riding with "motivation". I've gone across these 35 miles and found it so rewarding that I've turned around and gone back again.
If you're ever in New Hampshire on a bike you owe it to yourself and the bike to ride the "Kanc".

AZ191 between Morenci and Alpine is a slow, twisty ride over 3 high mountain passes. The highest was around 9100', if I remember right. It takes about 3 hours to cover that 90 miles. Just be aware that at those altitudes, you need to be prepared for constantly changing weather, especially in October.
Yes it is Arizona, but it does snow in that part of the state. I am riding it again with some buddies next month. Should be a blast.

I didn't realize that 191 was 90 miles, I know it was fun and took a while and was ready for a break when the road finally straightened out.
Ebbets pass (Ca 4)
Sonora pass (Ca 108)
and 395 the backside of the Sierra are all stellar as mentioned,
but I am sitting here in Nevada City after riding my Ca favorite (Ca 49) from Nevada City to Sierraville. Perfect twists along North fork of the Yuba are as good as it gets. Once in Sierraville go South on 89 toward Tahoe and then over the old Donner Summit followed by (Ca 20) back into Nevada City. Glorious tall trees, cool breeze and just enough twists. Oh and few if any cars.
So many roads too little time .My top 5 (so far) and my all time favorites are
1 .HWY 12 Lolo pass from Missoula to Lewiston ID . hands down best road for motorcycles and great places camp or just jump into the river to cool off.
2. is another HWY 12 Boulder, UT to Torrey, UT
3. North Cascade HWY 20 Rockport WA to Winthrop WA amazing scenery
4. Going to the Sun Road Glacier NP
5. Rattle Snake Pass from Clarkston WA To Enterprise OR
Some many others Canadian Rockies ,the SW ,the redwoods ,Big Surr ,Chinook Pass to Yakima WA.
Many more on my buckett list including Beartooth pass, Chief Joseph Hwy ,Blueridge HWY
