Default Sylvania vs PIAA

OK,
Trying to decide which one to get...

Sylvania H4ST at $20 or a PIAA at $60.

Would that $40 extra for the PIAA be that much of a difference or are they pretty much the same?
Kind of unsure at this point but would like to make the swap soon'

For those of you that run either one of these, watchya think?

yes there is a price difference, but after you buy a couple of the sylvanias you will understand why there is a price difference. they both put out about the same light, but the sylvanias aren't for high temp with high vibratioin applications and will go out shortly (about 6 months) the piaa are much more durable.

i went thru 2 sylvanias within a year. the piaa has been on almost 2 years now.

Yes for single, but found some cheaper than $60...

You guys get Extreme White or Star White Plus?

Been running the Piaa Extreme White Plus for about 2 years. Have them in the spots too. The light is so much whiter it makes the stock spot bulbs look yellow compared to the headlight, so plan on replacing the spot bulbs too. Much better light than the stock bulbs, no comparison IMHO. Love them, bright as hell!

Have replaced the Piaa head light bulb twice in the last two years, but the spots are doing great. Thats right, I'm on my third Piaa headlight bulb. Lose the high beam every time, prolly because I run it on high during the day. Certainly there are folks who ride more than I do, but have managed to put 45,500 miles on her in three years. Leaving for Orlando on Tuesday for two weeks. And yes, I am taking a spare Piaa headlight bulb!

Never tried the Sylvania's...

I forgot who I got the Piaa's from last time but it was on eBay. Bought a 2-pack for about $55. Seems like it was from somewhere in Wisconsin.

I used this bulb for 1 year in my kaw 1600 vulcan, before it blew. 100 watts hi-beam. 80 watts low-beam and is $12 or $13 from NAPA. Only get this one if they don't have it in-stock. The other one (that they say is the same) is NOT the same.

Ive had mine in for about 9 or 10 months and have put 8,000 miles on with no problem.
