Signs of cam chain tensioner failure

I took my bike in today for the 15k service and spoke to the dealer about this problem. He said that the billit plate with hydrolic tensioner and upgrade oil pump is good idea. The material used for the tensioner is the same.

If you are a easy rider then I would not check them till 30K. Best thing to do is put the up grade in it. At what the prices are for the stock replacement parts you can just about buy the up grade with the billet cam plate and later better oil pump. But make sure to replace your cam bearings in the crank case to the better bearings.
The first time I replaced mine was at around 60K. I waited way to long and my cam chains where running on metal. At the time they did not have the up grade kit as it was in 05. I now have the up graded kit in it.
