Default Warm Days

I have had my 09 ultra since the end of the riding season last year. So I did not experience any warm day in town riding. I have notice though when sitting at a stop sign on a warm day (Say 80 degrees) my bike will almost seem like it is not getting enough fuel. Like it is burning it off faster then it can t the bike is injecting it. I don't know if this is the case, but was wondering if anybody might be able to shed some light on this for me? Also, I guess the bike has the ability to run on one cylinder?? Rolling the throttle forward is suppose to make the bike run on one cyclinder when sitting idol to keep it running cooler???

Thanks,
Jay

I cant give you the technical reasons; but here in Vegas (105 amb temp, more like 120 on the asphalt according to my temp gauge) my '09 Ultra idles slow and low. As far as the EITMS (cyl cut off); with the ignition on (bike not started), roll your throttle forward until the cruise indicator is green, which indicates the system is on. If its amber its off. It works great and its seamless for the most part.

Hold the Throttle Rolled Forward for 3 or 4 seconds and you will see the cruise light flash green 3 times. That means its activated. Do the same and it will flash Orange 3 times to shut it off.

You only do that once and never touch it again. The system will shut down the cylinder on its own when it gets too hot. You will feel the difference and hear the difference.

This also works in neutral with the bike running.

Some people get confused and think they have to engage it each time and dont realize you are just turning the function on or off.
