Short here also. Got mine from The Sheepskin Factory - www.sheepskinfactory.com - plus they come in colors. Natural or medium gray transmit less heat than black for sure.

$60 shipped for a full pelt would be a fair price. Mine is about
1" thick, and don't leave home without it. A friend just got one,
swear it's a damn bear skin, 3" hair.

been using sheepskins since the middle 70's and the biggest reason for me is i can untie it from the bike and always have a pillow to rest my head on. i wash it in woolite and hang it up to dry and then comb it out and it always returns to like new condition.

Short haired sheepskin here, it is always on my bike short ride or long. Just prefer the neater cut look of the short hair.

Damn I thought they replaced sheepskin with the new and improved latex. Although the latex do get catch the short hairs once in awhile.

Shorthair, Alaska Leather Buttpad for me. Has quick release system for rain and washing plus an eleastic strap that goes over the nose of the seat so the pad doesn't blow back in the wind if you stand up on your floorboards for a mid flight butt adjustment. The XL fits the Touring seats pretty well.
