I talked to Firecap501 and he doesn't think it's a heat problem. The more I think about it, I would have probably had this problem sooner if it was as I put the amp in last year. He thinks it could be a resistor or a speaker. BTW, I PMd him and was on the phone with him in minutes. Very responsive and helpful guy.

This is a long shot and may not apply here but my radio sound was going off and on and I was sure something was wrong with it. After some serious searching I found the CB was on and it doesn't come through the bike speakers only the headset, but cuts the speakers off when the squelch is broken. Turned the CB off and the problem went away.

Same problem here. All sound stops, display is still fully functional. I updated the software with a download from HD, same issue. Will be speaking to the dealer about a fix.
