Anybody know the combine weight limit (passenger/rider) of an 08 ultra.
And at what pressure to put the shocks.
Thanks
Let's see, I weigh 165 so the combined weight limit on my '08 is 280 lbs.
Seriously mine is lowered 1" and I run 25 PSI in my shocks when I am solo. I add 5 PSI for 2 up.
At 25 PSI I will occasionally bottom out if I don't absorb large bumps with my legs.
I don't know the exact answer, but I think HD has a 'technical' max weight for each of the luggage attachments, ie saddlebags, etc. And if you add that to the rider limits you might have their 'official' number. In any case, higher tire pressure is probably a good idea.
OK now for a straight answer. Pg 21 of the owner's manual, also should be listed on the left side down tube.
Weight as shipped from factory 814 lb
Gross vehicle weight rating GVWR 1259 lb
Gross axle weight rating GAWR front 500 lb rear 827 lb
So rider, passenger, fluids, gear all combined 445 lb.
Air pressure recommended for shocks.
Solo rider: up to 150 lb 0 PSI, 150-200 lb 0-10 PSI, 200-250 lb 5-15 PSI.
with passenger weight: up to 150lb 10-15 PSI, up to 200 lb 20-25 PSI
At MAX GVWR 20-35 PSI.
