08 electra glide standard... I didn't get a book or anything... Anyone know what pressure I need to be running... I weigh 250 and the little woman weighs about 130...
My '03 would be around 25 and my '14 would be around 40psi There was a change in the shocks somewhere and i am thinking it was with the '09 frame. The newer shocks run higher pressures, the older lower. I believe my '03 should be 5 psi minimum to 30 psi maximum. Wife and I are similar and i keep shocks 15 - 25 depending on our luggage on the '03
You can buy an owners manual from your local friendly dealer, or download one from the H-D website, go to the Owners tab. As for the pressure to use in your shocks, that is something you need to adjust to your own taste. They are easy to change, with a suitable pump and a little experimentation should get you a better ride.
There is no standard pressure only recommendations. I used to use < 15 on my Glide usually closer to 0 psi
Use whatever gives you the ride you want, start at 10-15 psi and work your way up in 5 psi increments until you get the ride you are comfortable with based on weight and riding style. Be sure you use a shock pump, not the compressor at home or garage it will either blow your shocks or you will loose so much air every time you disconnect that you will not know where you are from check to check. Invest in the HD or Progressive pump.
I'm 235 and GF is around 150. I set mine about 42 without baggage. Just switched over to HD Premiums and ride is much better. Just have to crank them and they don't have any air to leak.
