Your bike has the older, lower pressure shocks. Don't listen to anyone who suggests anything greater than 35 pounds. Also, don't use a powered air pump like one at a gas station. The shocks use very little air and a powered pump will blow the seals. Finally, use a lossless pump with integrated gauge. If you try to pump them up and then check them with a regular tire gauge, you'll lose most of the pressure.
I have a 2008 Electra Glide Classic that has the same shocks as yours unless they have been swapped for something else. I use the Hd touring suspension pump, but other high quality no loss pumps work fine.
One last hint, you don't have to take off the left saddle bag to adjust the pressure, just open the bag lid and you'll have room to work.
Thanks for all the help... I didn't know that about the Harley website.. I'll check that out.. Guess I'm gonna have to find a pump somewhere... Does a bicycle pump work.. I'll buy a good one just wondering if it would work in a pinch...
The advantage to the Harley pump is you don't loose pressure when you unscrew the pump. there is so little volume in the shocks any air lost is a few psi
just another person to chime in on the caution do not use a compressor opinion
best just to bend over, lube up, and go buy the HD hand pump
the alternative is to get rid of the crap HD suspension and go to Progressive shocks in the back and monotube cartridges in the front... trust me it is the best money you will spend to improve the bike
