Angry Neutral Indiacator

Help Please,

The Bike is 2005 Ultra

The Fault is the neutral indiacator fails to light up when the bike is in neutral, could be either the indiacator or the switch / sender in the gear box.

Where is the switch / sender on / in the gearbox and where are the electrical connection?

Does any one know what the bulb is for the indiacator?

Thanks in advance.

Mark A.

Default LED module

It's probably the module with the LEDs in it.

I have an 07 and the LED module failed (out of warranty) and cost me about $100 for a new one.

You can unhook plug the wire coming out of the tranny and ohm it out.

Pretty sure you'll be replacing that LED module. (unfortunately, not just the LED)

- easy to troubleshoot

does the bike start in N without pulling the clutch in? if it does your sender is fine and its the light

On my '08 it was the light module, not the neutral switch. Fortunately mine failed under warranty.

I just replaced my switch and bulb. If the 05 is like my 04, you need to remove the tach to get to the indicator lights. Th connector for the lights is just above the radio. You can pull the connectors apart and check for power on the terminal for the neutral light. If you get power when the ignition is on the bike is in neutral, it's the bulb. If no power, it is the switch and maybe the bulb too.

The SM has the procedure to remove the tach and the wiring diagram for the indicator lamps.
