me either. The guy told me on the phone, "we don't do police seats". I found that shocking, especially when they do after market seats. Three other vendors were willing to do it with no problems. I went with bitchin stichin. he knew exactly how i sit on the seat and how to make comfortable for me. they have my business! I don't need a vendor whos say's "We can"t". Tells me either your too busy or you don"t have the expertise. JMO

The police seats do not have a lot of foam in them, in the thinnest area of the seat there is less than one inch of foam in them due to the way the seat pans are shaped. The riding position can't be changed on them because there just isn't any thing in them to work with. Most guys who call us asking about working on the Police seats want to be either lowered 2-3 inches or have their riding position moved back 2-3 inches and if you look at the seat you can see that just isn't going to happen because there isn't enough foam in them to even change the riding position a 1/2 inch without putting the rider on the seat pan and that certainly isn't going to be comfortable.

I can tell you that I don't like turning work away, especially in this economy but we do NOT want to mislead any customer into thinking that something can be done when it cannot be and end up with an un-happy customer. So you can take our honesty as a good thing and know we aren't here just to take your money or you can be disappointed that we told you the truth and didn't take you money.

Default Way to go Mean City

I've not yet done biz with Mean City but surely will when I save enuff money to mod my badlander seat. I contacted them a couple of weeks ago about modding my 2010 SG seat lower and ahead. Allen said it would be a waste of money because of pan design. He even suggested an alternate plan that didn't include doing biz with his company. Pretty sure Mean City is looking out for our best interest even if it means effecting his bottom line. I'm looking forward to doing biz with some good American's like Mean City Cycle.

I would rather have a vendor tell me that they aren't capable of doing something instead of taking my money and not getting the desired result. I haven't used Mean City as I am very happy with my Mustangs and personally think the police seat is the most comfortable seat harley ever put on a motorcycle.

I applaud BadX [Allen] for his honesty. What he wrote is exactly what he told me when I called him about modifying my police seat.

I have ridden Police Motors and agree that it is a very comfortable seat as is. It does, however, sit you up much higher which is its purpose. In addition you will notice that the nose of the usable part of the seat extends farther over the tank than a regular frame seat. This is intentional as this is where you will ride the seat when making the very tight maneuvering that Police must do on these bikes. Being farther forward is the only way to make one of these bikes slow speed controllable.

When I went through the Motor Officer training last year for 2 weeks, I never got to feel what the back of the seat felt like. We were required to sit forward at all times and it became habit. If you did sit back you would either get yelled at or would end up dropping the bike on the slow speed manuevers.
