take it off and ride more than ten miles, your foot will be happy to have the floorboard room. unless you have size 6 feet.

Just got used to the heel shifter, not bad, but now to get used the the CLANG of the tranny going into gears ... always makes me smile ... CLANG ... the exact opposite of my former jap bikes -click-

CLANG ! - I hope this things holds together !

like the other guy said - shifting in the Down direction for either up or down gear selection works for me.

CLANG ! - Is there oil in there ! (maybe I need an extended warranty)

CLANG ! - yikes

Since I smashed my foot a few years back, I use it all the time. It is harder to get it into neutral using it so I have to use the toe shifter for that (I can feel that on my foot). But other than that I use the heel shifter. I test rode a new Limited & the way they had that heel shifter on, it sucked, would have had to lower that before I rode it home if I would have bought it.

Just feels odd using the heel shifter. It's still on the bike but I'm thinking of taking it off for more room.

Heck, I wish I could get rid of the toe shifter to give me more room up front

Remove the toe shifter! Now there is an idea I like! (@ 6'2" I think your assessment of the situation is right on.

First bike I have owned with one, I love using it. I tried not using it at first, but over time, I gravitated to it, cannot live without it now.

sure if you like leaving your feet in the same spot for hours and hours. putting your feet more underneath you puts you in a better riding position for the long haul.
