Come on guys... A f'ing car tire on your bike! What next - some fenders, a hood, trunk, & power windows...????....

I think it's funny how many people that have never tried it are talking about how crazy and unsafe it is yet people(mostly wingers and BMWs) have logged millions on miles this way...Plus I bet that all the nay sayers have at one point or another stopped by a watering hole and had a beer or two and hopped back on thier scooter...When for a Fact(for a change) alcohol is the biggest contributer to motorcycle crashes in the US...Seems if you were really concerned for your safety you'ld be sober in a car with a complete roll cage....Just saying

You can always tell who hasn't ridden the Darkside: they naysay the concept as if they knew something about it.
I spent four months studying before becoming totally convinced and going over. I won't be going back. I'll be referring them to here:

Ok, I found this about the car tires they mount on the Boss Hoss, small block V-8 bikes (which I would love to drive one of these with about 400hp!).

Although like a member said in a different CT/MT thread, (cats will soon be screwing dogs), all brought on by are alternative lifestyle brethren!

http://www.motorcyclecruiser.com/roa..._v8/index.html

Excerpt:

With 130/90-16 Continental motorcycle tire on the front wheel and that big, square-profile Firestone P225/70R15 radial car tire on the back, we anticipated all sorts of adventures in corners. We were therefore extremely and pleasantly surprised to discover that the Boss Hoss actually tracked pretty precisely and smoothly around as many corners as we could find in south Florida. It steered with no more force than needed for other "big" bikes. We suspect that the makers of the tires shudder to think of their products being used in that context and combination, but at least on dry pavement, we couldn't find much to quibble about. You could tell that the rear tire's profile wasn't rounded like a motorcycle tire's, but you can confidently lean it over far enough to drag things, which requires more lean angle than many cruisers.
The considerable contact patch of the tires also helps the big bike get stopped in a reasonable distance. Although you need to apply relatively strong pressures, the bike will stop pretty hard. The dual-disc front brake requires strong pressure, and you also need to use the rear brake, which sports a very large disc, more than on most other bikes because of the long wheelbase and considerable traction available at the rear.

The Boss Hoss two wheelers don't come with CT's on the rear of them now. For the last few years they have a motorcycle tire that is made just for Boss Hoss. I rode a Boss Hoss about 2 months ago. What a fun ride, 285 horsepower and 1100 lbs. That thing starts rolling as soon as the brake is released. No throttle required. <G>
Twisting the throttle while in neutral and the bike will just about twist out from under the rider due to the torque of the engine.

At this point we can deduce that some of us have tried and appreciate the aspects of car tires on motorcycles. We also know how a few people can`t resist making unfounded negative statements revealing their ignorance. Why they are so anxious show they don`t have a clue is interesting if not sickening.

There are lots of things I have not tried, including riding a bike with a car tyre. It is not a valid argument to claim that because I haven't tried something and don't like to, that I am in some way ignorant. That undermines your own case.
