The one thing I like about having floorboards and highway pegs on a touring bike is the many different positions I can move my feet on long rides. Don't think you can get the same ride with forward controls.

Thanks DD - just a probie here yet, so I don't have PM privileges (I think it takes 5 days). One more quick question - what year SG are you on and do you know if it makes any difference if you have ABS (for some reason everything I try to do seems to be complicated by having ABS)?

I have Accutronix extended forward controls....love them. In terms of foot positions, I have 6 different positions that I work through. 1 is highway only (heels on passenger pegs), 1 is heel tip on outer most part of peg, 1 is arch on peg, 1 is ***** of feet on pegs, 1 is feet over the pegs resting on outside of ankle, but not on the bone (this works well with one leg and the other leg in a different position for a angular stretch), and the last is heels on the heel rests and toes on the pegs. Heel rests with pegs feel just like floorboards, but you can angle them down more for a more comfortable foot position. I tour with them yes, rode from Maine to Sturgis and return through Canada over the Great Lakes to Montreal and down.

I am looking for a way to do pegs, instead of boards also. I am wanting to replace both the drivers and passengers boards, with pegs. Keep it coming guys, and would someone please post some pics of your bikes with pegs? Thanks!

Here's the website for Jaybrake.

http://www.jbrake.com/forwardcontrols_jfl.html

These just show MSP, I think you can get a bit of a discount if you go to a distributor - someone on this thread said they sell these.

Not sure about the passenger footboards. Never really occurred to me to replace those - I think the OL likes 'em pretty good, so I didn't check on those.

I liked them on My Deuce. I gave some thought to putting them on my SG. But I want to be able to keeo my crashbar and lowers. Accutronix makes some nice stuff.

Not sure with the Accutronix, but with Jaybrake you have the option of keeping the crashbar. They have pics of them both ways in their downloadable brochure.
