Default Forward Controls on a Bagger?

Anyone here replaced their footboards with the Jaybrake Forward Controls designed for baggers? I hate the footboards on my RKC and want pegs like on my Dyna Glide.

Just wondering if anyone has had experience with that before and did you make the conversion yourself or take it to the shop?

I"m about to decide this shortly. I was holding out until my custom seat was done to see where I ended up. I am leaning towards accutronix +9's, but taking away the crash bar, or more importantly for me the highway peg option is my holdup. The Jaybrakes don't move them that far out so I'm not sure about doing those. I think going that route I'd just do the 2" ness extensions and use the softbrake shifter and brake arms in +2.

We've sold a fair number of them and have never ever had a single complaint. It's really all personal preference. If you decide to go this route let us know and we should be able to hook you up.

Had them on my 95 FLHTC and loved them. Jaybrake makes some great stuff and there really nice if you lower it in the front and back 2" like I did and getting to strech out. Miss that ol' bike,oh and I'm just over 6' if ya need that info. I did it myself in bout an hour or so, I really don't remember since I was happy to get them. Took more time to set them up right were I liked them, getting on checkin them and adjusting them so on and so forth. Great investment, my wife told me to get a set for my SG.

I've had them on my StreetGlide for about 10,000 miles now...Won't go back to boards ever..total job was about 30 minutes to install and 6 bolts to adjust the pegs and your done...took me a little while to dial in my riding position theres about 10 positions to choose from...very well made and look like they'll last forever...PM me if you have any other questions...Later

Can you do long distances with them. I always have my legs out on the edge of the floorboards or on the highway bar. Just not sure if you can tour with them.

I recently rode a bagger with a set of forward controls. Absolutely loved the look and comfort/riding position for the short ride I took. Really unsure about "touring" with them. Fewer positions for my feet/legs and the wind seemed to hit me WAY more on the highway. Kinda like it was funneling up my legs into my chest/face for some reason.

Thanks all for the responses. They're on the way (sorry PhatTerry, already had a deal in the worx). Soon as I get 'em on I'll post pics...

I figger not having footboards won't be a problem on long rides. Never had a problem on long rides with the Dyna and generally when I'm on the RKC for long rides (or even short ones for that matter) I keep my feet on the highway pegs. Only time I use the footboards is when I'm in heavy stop n go traffic constantly having to brake/shift.
