Default Electrical Help

Wouldn't you know it, as soon as I get a project finished an electrical gremlin rears it's head.

On my way to work this morning my speedo and tach dropped to zero, the bike ran fine. I stopped and shut it off, restarted and it was fine the rest of the way in. I started it at work a few times showing off my new pipes and the tach was still working. When I left work the turn signals, brake lights, horn, cig lighter and cruise wouldn't work and still don't but the tach, speedo, tail light (not brake) and front running lights (not turn signals) are working fine. Any ideas are appreciated.

Thanks,
Rick

Kind of an old song, but it still may be relevant - clean your main ground cable and the connections at the battery until all/both sides are shiny bright.
Oh, and you may want to pop out the fuses and look at the connection blades. As small as they are any more it would not take much corrosion to break connection

Actually these were the first things I tried. I was hoping this might be one of those "oh yeah that happened to me and this was the problem" type of things. I have a feeling it may be a ground........somewhere.

Thanks,
Rick

Check any connectors that you unhooked during your project and also along any harnesses you may have moved. Sounds like you have a loose connector or possibly broken wires.

The only connectors I messed with were the 02 sensors, I installed new ones. I also playing with the mapping for the TMAX, but I wouldn't think that would be related. I guess I'll just have to keep hunting.

Thanks,
Rick

It was the accessory fuse. I thought I had checked them all but I guess I missed that one.

Thanks,
Rick
