Good morning, guys.
Just read the "front" page of the forum; regarding checking the shock air pressure, "How many of you put your scoots up on the jack to measure the shock pressure?"
I've not read or heard about this before?

I never have in 10 years of having air-adjustable shocks.
For an absolute pressure reading the statement is correct. However, what matters is what pressure works for you, just use any published number as a guide. Provided you measure the pressure in a constant manner and use that as your reference you will be OK. Thus, if you set the pressure at 18 psi in the side stand and for you at your weight and loading conditions that works, then that what you use as your target. I just happen to set the pressure when the bike is on the centre stand and for my weight and normal loading 20 psi is my setting target.

Where 's my slide rule and calipers ?? Unless they have improved them since 04 I would take them off and throw them in the nearest garbage can... Then put on a good set of progressives !!! That is exactly what I did... Harley shocks are junk IMO......
If I remember correctly, the owners manual on my GL1800 Goldwing states to check and adjust the rear shock pressure while on the center-stand. That's because it didn't require a pre-load. I don't think that the case with a Harley.
