Default Seat - Modify or New?

Ive got an 07 StreetGlide and want a seat with a backrest. Here is the deal - my bike has a limited edition Harley paintkit with a matching badlander seat. Ive talked to a local shop and they can modify the badlander seat so I can add the detachable backrest or Im thinking about changing the seat out to a solo seat with a backrest.

So should I try to modify the badlander and keep the matching seat or go solo?

Decisions decisions...............

I thought I would try the cheaper route to have my stock seat modified by a great supporting vendor. Even after the break-in period, I was more comfortable on a Mustang Solo seat with a backrest on my 07 FLTR. I sold my modded seat and bought a Mustang seat with a backrest and couldn't be happier. I also removed the passenger pegs and think the bike looks much better now IMO.
Of course the Corbin solo looks great, too. A bit more pricey and firm. I had one on a Yamaha years back.

Tough question! If you like the Badlander and it's comfortable, I would get it modified. If you are going to a solo, I would consider the Mustang Solo w/Rider Backrest. My wife had one on her 09 Dyna Lowrider. It was a great seat. Good luck!
