I live 30 miles out of city and my J&M Flexpower is fine. Did you use the pigtail and plug the original factory antenna into it? I didn't the first time, thinking it would rob power, but after an email to John at J&M asking him that specific question, he informed me it actually helped to have them both plugged in. I tried and he is correct, reception was better.

I live in a small town that the closest radio station is 45 miles away. My hidden in fairing antenna works great and better than the stock antenna. I listen to the XM most of the time but when I switch over to the FM, it works every time.

I would have a hard time believing the hidden antennas would work as well as the stick version. May be good for the city folks, but not in rural areas.
