Default Lowering Questions

I want to lower my '06 FLHTI, but wanted to know the best way to go. The stealer says that they can install a block that moves the bottom of the shock rearward or install shortened airshocks. I want to lower the seat height 1"-1.5" and am seeking the advice of others that have done it.

Who makes or sells the best lowering kit? Should I lower the front also? How much will it change the way my bike handles?

Thanks,
Troy

I did both and then lowered the front with the progressive lowering kit. Some say the blocks cause binding in the shocks. I haven't noticed it. Mine is lowered 2 1/2" in the back and 2" in the front. I used the White brothers kit on the back. My bike has a different front suspension than yours so I don't know if you could lower it in the front 2".

Lower the front/rear 1" with HD Profile gear. The Sundowner is a 2-up that will get ya lower as well!

Lower both the front and back equally ... just the back effects handling.

The lowering block works fine, Burly has one that lowers 1.5 inch and Arlen ness has an adjustable block 1-2 inch. Do it yourself and save a bunch, only two bolts (if you have a bike lift).

I'm running the TRW 1.5 inch brackets on the rear of my EG and 20lbs of air is perfect for me solo. Didn't lower the front and love the handling and feel.
