Default Passenger grab strap

I purchased a sundowner seat for my 09 RKC, it includes a new grab strap since the standard one is too short, removal is a screw on the left side but seems to have a rivet on the right side. Also the new strap seems to use the fender bolts, does anyone not use the grab straps, comments appreciated.............

I think the general consensus is to throw 'em in the dumpster.I leave mine on for a cargo net.

I left mine on the 09 egc and use it to hold down the Butt Buffer seat pad the wife uses.

I know it's hard but refrain from Butt Buffer remarks....LOL

Take it off as soon as I get to it or 1st time I take off seat and it does not go back on. To big of pain in but especially if side of road repair is needed.

Up to you but most leave it off due to the PIA when removing and reinstalling the seat. Bought a used Sundowner that did not come with the strap so ended up ordering one and removed the hardware for the OEM strap.

In hindsight I would not have ordered the strap for the Sundowner and left the original hardware on and cut off the old strap to be able to use the hardware as a docking point for bungee or whatever.

i had the same predicament. i secured it to the fender and then just slid the seat in through it. not a big deal, and i thought it looked odd w/out it, but to each his own.

So, does anyone know how to put the strap back on? I got my sweetie's stock seat reupholstered and it looks great but hasn't been on MC for so long that he forgot how it attaches back on? I know "throw it away" but it sets off the "stock" seat now redone in leather with blue cord highlights looks sharp just want to be able to do totally stock or Mustang seat/fairing/ and hard bags........ options options
