anyone having issues with Avon Venom tires, I put a new set on in May and went on vacation in July, while on vacation I noticed a slight vibration in the front end, I thought it was a balance issue, looked at the tire yesterday and the front tire is separating, I called Jake Wilson and emailed them pictures and they said they would get back to me, is this a isolated issue or is Venom having some quality control issues I was not aware of
I'm on my second Venom on the rear. I've had no issues. I was alittle disappointed with the wear on my first rear, but I don't think I was running enough air pressure.
Avon website still list both Cobra and Venoms. I have the Cobras, got 8500 miles on the rear 200/55/17 so far and did lots of 2 up plus heavy load. I am not to the wear indicators yet but feel its ready to change. No problems with either the front or rear. They are a bit softer than the dunlops so I would not expect the same wear. Being softer they stick better dry or wet IMHO. The Venoms are a bias ply tire, unless you select the venom r which is limited to about 3 sizes. The cobras come in both radial and bias ply depending on size of tire.
THANKS, I run the Venom because I run wide white walls, love the performance but this front tire concerns me,, Jake Wilson called back today and said they talked to the warranty dept and they have had no issues with the Venom so they feel it is an isolated issue and not an over all quality issue, they emailed me a packing list so I can send it back to them, I'll up date after they get the tire and get back to me
I bought some for my softail and within a year they were cracking and splitting like they were getting dry rot. I know they are a softer rubber but come on!! Will never waste my money on them again. Ended up buying a set of duro's for 70 bucks! They have been excellent so far!

Not saying ya did not have a problem but did ya check the mfg date? Maybe ya got some old stock tires, were new but old. It can happen. Check the sidewall for the mfg date. I have found at times places have a great sale on OLD STOCK. Link below to reading sidewalls from Avon.
Avon is owened by Copper tire and I can tell you there custemer servise is bad. They will say its your falt or you hit something in the road. You are going to buy another tire.
Had this happen a couple of years ago. two differant tires one had about 500 miles on it.
