OK I am running 42...I am doing something wrong huh? I will try and let it out to 25 then will probably drop it to 20. I ride solo. How do you determine what is the right number...trail and error?

I'm at about 15 and weigh 155 and usually ride solo. Maybel I'll increase mine to about 25.

35psi
I haven't tested with more or less air than that in the shocks. The suspension feels fine at 35psi. We ride duo all the time and our combined weight is 300lbs.

I run 35 psi. The service manual gives the ranges and I think it is 30-35 for two up and then you can go down for 1 up if needed.

It really is trial and error. My wife usually can tell because too soft will bounce her off the seat some. Everyone please remember though.....these bikes have some differences. Lot's of different years posting so I though I would mention it. I know the 09's have a max of 50lbs and the manual claims 40 for two-up riding. It works for us but we aren't very heavy. I think the pre-09 bikes had a much lower max rating. More like what WBOGLEY quoted.

Thanks for the info. I have been running about 18 lbs so i am going to try higher pressure and try to smooth out the ride.

I have changed my rear shocks to Ultra shocks so we now have the same ones.
I weight 220, I always ride solo and use 25 lbs. and use the hand pump.

It glides over Rail Road tracks now.

Never had any bottoming out problems but 30 is better than 15 for me. Just rides smoother. Same 2 up or single.

You are correct the pre 09 bikes max is much lower. Best to read the manual for your year so you don't blow them out.
