Thanks, I thought it would be easy until I saw how much. I will check more on ebay. I'm thinking I want to do the Heads as well.
I can do the work myself so that will save me some money.
You should be able to do a good 95" (or up to 98" if you get away from SE) that will keep up with a 103" and give you miles of smiles. Much cheaper than splitting the cases and installing a stroker. If you were splitting the cases, you might as well do it right and go at least 120"...

Thought about that as well. Where would you suggest getting them from?

Several places can hook you up. Hillside, Headquarters, T-Man, GMR are just a few that get discussed a lot around here. Haven't heard anything bad about any of them.

hd part number 27544 is hard to beat. it comes with the 10.75 forged pop up pistons, the 259E cams, heavier clutch spring, the sepst and is designed for the trikes so that they have enough power to get out of their own way. those things must weigh a lot. when used on a streetglide or other touring bike, it's amazing how well this kit develops torque and horsepower. lakeshore or chicago hd, or zanottis seem to be about the best on price. i'd suggest using the better torrington/timken cam bearings while it's torn down along with the manual compression releases and of course the screamin eagle compensator. my 08 sg gained 34 more hp and over 30 hp with this kit. if i knew what i know now about the way this kit works, i'd do the same thing. it works great, with power everywhere and in abundance where you really use the power.
96 came standard in 2006 Dynas. Touring bikes didn't get it until 2007.
Sorry to correct but Dynas didn't come with the 96 until 2007. That was the first year that any bike had the 96 from the factory. I have an 07 FXD with a 96 and a friend has an 06 FXDL with an 88.
