Default bars on a 09 SG

I have a 09' SG and I am 5'6" and would like to bring my bars back so I can bend my elbows. (I feel like I am leaning forward all the time) I have installed a reach seat and still dont have a bend in my elbows.

Has anyone installed different bars to help with this problem and if so, did you have to buy new cables or is there enough to reach?

Well, they have just come out with a super reduced reach seat yesterday. Also, check out the Khromewerks Sweepers for bars. Were you looking to keep your fairing mirrors?

I will check out the Khromewerks sweepers. Will i have to buy new cables if i go with them? As far as the mirrors, i dont have to keep them on the fairing.

You'll need new clutch cable (+3 or 4) and upper brake line. You will only be able to see your fist in the fairing mirrors....I took mine off and went with bar mounted mirrors.

I did not have to change out anything on my 08 but the clutch cable. Went with 38649-08 for a clutch cable (would be the same for your scoot). Everything else should work fine.

I had a hard time bending the hard brake line on my 07 to my liking, but I want braided cables and lines anyway.

I just looked at the sweeper bars on the website. It said that the sweepers will not fit 08-09's because of the trottle trough the bars.

Any other suggestions?

The 30515 Khromewerks bars will work on your bike.
I had the 300505 bars on my 06 FLHT , and I'll probably go with the 300515 bars on my 09.
Same bars , different throttle control setup for the sensor.
You "can" go through the bars , but don't have to , if you do , you'll need the throttle sensor that doesn't have the plug inline.
Very nice bars.

I am also a 5' 6" woman who had a heck of a time with the bars on my 09 Streetglide. I went with wild one 575 bars and have been very satisfied. You need a + 4 clutch cable but everything else reaches. They are 1.5" internally wired and when I turned them back far enough to reach comfortably, I could still use fairing mirrors.
