After pipes, air cleaner, and tuner, which direction would you recommend...cams or big bore?
I know this this topic has been discussed here before, but I can only find specifics about each, so my question to those of you that have done cams or big bore upgrades, which would you put your money in if you had it to do over?
Just looking at the options for a little more boost.
if i was gonna do one or the other i'd do cams, it'll get ya more. if yer gonna bore you might as well do heads and then u'd be silly not to do cams soooo....

IMHO, a tuner (like the TTS) would be the first consideration. The TTS can be used on a completely stock bike or grow with the mods you're considering.
Pulling out the smog cams and putting in some mild performance cams will give you a better performance bump than leaving in the smog cams but increasing displacement to 103.
Better would be to do both, but if you were going to do just one, do the cams.
Later, if you decide to increase displacement, you might also want to have the heads ported and bump your compression a bit, which opens the door to a wider cam selection. Running stock heads and stock compression limits your cam choices to the mildest street grinds.
I have the stage1 with a HQ500 cam and it works very well the bike makes 90Hp and 93 Lbs of torq. It sounds great and runs great, I live in Idaho and you can find every terrain from flat lands to mountains with in 100 miles and it handles them all with no problems.
I also added a 49T ring gear to the primary and that made a huge difference in the felt performance of the bike, the cam and slightly lower gear ratio work perfectly together and the bike actually gets better mileage with a lower gear ratio, (you can use 6th a lot more).
I am going to have Mondello/Mathews do the heads this winter and put in a set of .018 heads gaskets to bump up the compression to about 10-1 and that should make a real difference also.
I'm staying with the 96" until it's dead then I'll consider a bore kit of some sort.
