Just traded my denim blue '07 SG in for a sunglo '10 SG.
I kept the chopped tour pack thinking I could repaint it.
Ordering parts today for the new bike, and the parts guy says not only do I need new 4 point mounting brackets on the fender, but the brackets that fasten to the new tour paks will not fit on the pre '09 bikes.
I haven't seen a '10 tour pak, but my '07 brackets are U shaped and mount on some ribbing at the bottom of the tour pack in the same shape. I guess this is what causes them to not be compatible with the new ones.
A real drag to have to buy another one.
If I had known, I would have let it go in a trade in on the old scoot.
Has anybody else come across this?
I don't want to compromise safety, as some loved ones occasionally sit back there, but are there any options to make them compatible?
