Default tour pack quick connect question

I have a '10 SG and want to add a tour pack for when wifey goes on trips. Anyhow I found a deal on a 1995 Electra Glide FLHT tour pack. Will this pack mount to the quick detach piece?

Yes, but you'll need to drill some holes in the new to you tour pak bottom to match the mounting holes for the detachable rack used on your bike. Easy to do; many here (myself included) have drilled holes in the bottom to use older tour paks on newer bikes.

You should have bought a Ultra and added low shocks on the rear , it would have been easier , LOL!

4 ohm on the tp speakers and you have 2 ohm on your SG, something to think about so you might have to change speakers in the tour pak

More than likely I would just take the speakers off.

yeah it's really up to you how involved you want to get- and budget.

I have a stock T/P mounting rack ( 2009 bolt on) if you want to save a few hundred bucks over the detachable ( PM if you want it).

the detachable is great if you are taking it on/off/on/off frequently.

If you are putting it on for a week or two then taking it off for weeks or months, then the stock rack is pretty easy. 4 bolts to your frame rails.

If you don't bother with lights/speakers etc, its pretty easy.

if you are mounting up an old tour pak, before you drill get her on the bike to determine fore and aft placement- if she's a big girl a little aft will keep you both comfy. if she's small you can bring it forward to keep the weight centered.

one of the reasons I have a Classic over an Ultra is that the rear speakers don't allow room for my Tbag on the pillion, I use the t bag for a backrest. it is wider than the space left by the speakers ( and after 20 years in the car, I certainly don't want her running the stereo on the bike! which she could do on the newer Ultras) shhhh

I'm wanting it for 1 maby 2 weekends out of the entire season. I planned on just doing the back rest for her, this pac just came along at what I think is a good deal. The speakers are really a mute point, i would just take them off before I messed with um two much.

That doesn't seem like a bad price for the tour pak then you could sell the speaker pod for a few bucks if your not going to use them.
