I have a carb bike and and injected bike. I'll take the injected bike, however that RK has an obsolete system. Know that going into the desision process.

Been riding a injected standard for about 4 months now. Won't ever go without that fairing again! I LOVE IT! I LOVE THE STEREO SYSTEM I PUT IN IT! I LOVE THE MIRRORS MOUNTED TO IT. DID I SAY I LOVE IT!

Seriously, best bike I have ever owned. Planning on trading for a 2010 Ultra Classic in the next few months.

Always rode street bikes and sportys before. Fairing is the only way for me now!

6 speed tranny is one of the reason I am tradin' for a new bike! 96" engine, 6 speed tranny, cruise, tour pak, full intercom, radio, cb, gps thru headset system. Otherwise, I love my '06 FLHT-i. Just can't see putting more $ into it, when I could have a new one for about the same $. I was going to add everything on that list to mine, but a new one makes more sense, I have almost 30K on this bike without trouble. Fast starts, runs great, I have stage one kit on it with V&H ovals, otherwise stock.

With the 6-speed thrown in the mix I vote the Electra Glide. The bike will run perfectly fine with the carbed engine and if it later needs carb work then that can be done cheaply and easily right on your workbench with regular tools. The Harley carbs have a lot of tunability to them, especially if you go the Thunderslide route. Real easy carb to set up for a big bore kit, cams, heads, whatever you like.

Have not heard anything bad about the SE 6-speed. That will make it a much better touring bike.

Thanks for the vote of confidence Guntoter, I like the Electra glide a bit better anyway. Sounds like W0ace is looking at a limousine on two wheels. Don't worry though, you can get some pretty low rates on the mortgage you'll need for it! lol

i was a die hard carburetor fan for my first 5 harleys. then the more i got to know about the fuel injection systems and how well they work, my last two harleys have been injected including my latest one. carbs are easy for me to modify or replace. that's not the case in fuel injection. it is for those who have experience with tuning devices, dynos, mapping, etc, but it's all beyond my generation, for me anyway. with that being said, i really like the dependability that's built into the later model fuel injected harleys. just take your time, you'll find the right bike, don't get in a hurry, i expect there will be a lot more of them for sale because the economy hasn't rebounded as expected.

The 6 speed would be a deal maker for me..... My heritage has a carb, and i have had no issue warm or cold weather. Ride 90% of the time on the interstate and would love a 6th gear. Haven't heard anything bad about the se set up and in fact was going to upgrade to that this fall probably. just my couple cents.

Well, it's official. I finally own my own HD. I decided on the 2002 FLHT carbureted machine. Love the 6th gear! Need to be running at least 70 mph though before there is really any need for it.
