I have a 2010 S/G that just turned 1200 miles. I use both front and rear brake when stopping. I noticed last nite getting off the freeway I was a little more aggresive than usual with the rear brake. There was this vibration that I don't think was of the warped rotor varitity. It wasn't a fast enough vibration and didn't pulse the pedal. I'll have the dealer check it out. In the meantime, any one else experience this or have an idea. Thanks
Yes, I have a 10 RG and a buddy of mine has a 10 Limited. We both experience a pulsating type feel when using the back brake. it cannot be felt in the pedal, its felt throughout the bike. I just turned 11k and it appears to be gone. I have no idea what it was or why.
I have a 2009 FLHX. I just had a new back tire installed @ 17,000 miles and when i got the bike back I noticed a vibration too when applying the back brake. I'm not too hard on my brakes and use the front and back so i don't know if I never noticed it or if it is a result of something that happened when the new tire was installed.
I brought the bike back to the indy who installed the tire. He took the pads off and cleaned them but mentioned that there was an anti rattle kit that HD makes that would prevent the vibration and my bike did not have the kit. He said it is the pads vibrating in the caliper.
I called the HD dealer and they are ordering the anti rattle kit for me. They said it should be covered under warranty.
Never noticed a problem with my rear brakes until I replaced the pads at 15000 miles. Now I have the "shuddering" at very slow speeds as I stop using the rear brake only. It was squealing so I put anti squeal past on the back side of the pads. Stopped the squealing but the "shudder" remains.
I have no answers, only more input that a problem exists. I am using the stock HD pads. Might try aftermarket pads next time.
I replaced the front pads at about 25,000 miles and have no problem with them.
2012 Ultra- Has rear brake shake/vibration started about 6,000 miles on bike. Dealer replaced rear rotor- still there. More agrivated riding 2 up. Called H-D customer service. They are sending a rep to ride my bike. Dealer tried to pass it off as normal-B/S cause they dont know what it is or how to fix it or Harley is telling them to keep quiet. I pulled the ABS fuse- still there. Dealer said its engine vibe but cyclic rate of vibe does not match engine RPM. If you turn engine off while coasting & apply rear brake vibe is gone- smooth as silk. Help-Help

Well that should tell you the dealer is probably right. If you turn the engine off and apply the rear brake and the vibration is gone - it's not the brakes!
What you are feeling is engine pulses caused by the new design frames. I know it sounds strange but take the bike out and use rear brake until it starts to pulse and cut the engine off. I bet it will go away. There is info on this problem from MOCO but you will have to search for it.

+1 frame transmits engine vibe Pull in your front brake when you are stopped you also will feel vibration
I think it has to do with the drive isolation system.
Mine will do the vibration thing if I brake somewhat agressive with the rear brake and no clutch. Brake hard with the clutch pulled in I get no vibrations.
This is why I think its the rubber isolation system compressing and rebounding with the pulses of the motor.
