Shifting problem
Since I changed to a stainless clutch cable, bike upshifts perfect. Downshifting requires way more pressure on the shifter than normal and neutral was hard to find. So, after reading countless "clutch adjustment" tips, I gave it a try today. Didn't make any difference, matter of fact it's a little worse. What am I overlooking? Now, when I pull the clutch in and shift into first, the bike wants to creep forward. It is an 05 Road King Police. Didn't have this problem before I changed the cable (handlebar upgrade, longer cable). Any help? Thanks.
I am assuming you did this your self and know what I am talking about without a lot of detail. Loosen clutch lever free play. Then insure clutch adjusting screw is only screwed out 1/2 turn from the all way in. Then make sure clutch cable has at lest 1/16 free play at clutch lever bracket. I think most tend to get too much free play and loose some of the movement to fully release the clutch plates. Up shifts are OK like that but downshifts and neutral is a problem Also until you solve your problem be sure you have formula+ in the primary. It works well and then if you want to experiment with all the other oils you see on the forum fine.
