Default Cruise indicator flashes

I've noticed a couple of times on our 2010 RK, that the cruise control indicator will flash red, even when the cruise control switch is in the off position. I've read the owners manual and not sure what to make of this. I am going to call the dealer on Monday, but was wondering if anyone could tell me what might be causing this.

Thanks

You might run the self diagnostics to see if there are any error codes that have been stored.

The cruise control light will go out after you get up to about 3 mph. The blinking is normal.

Its not on start-up.. it happens while parking the bike twice now while the cruise switch was in the off position.

Sorry, I misread your post. I thought you were talking about the ABS light.

Might mean you're running w/the EITMS (Engine Idle Temp Management System) disabled and bike's running hot...try turning it on to see if there's a change.

That's what I was thinking. Are you accidentally rolling the throttle forward when parking it? This will enable/disable the EITMS.

I doubt that would be the case as the bike is still idling as I park it.... to enable that function bike must be off but with ignition switch on. I will check though

I can turn on and off the EITMS on my bike while it's running. I doubt this is your problem though.

Why would you want to turn the EITMS off? Not trying to be a smart *** but why even have that option of on and off.
