Road King Hard Panniers - Dimensions?
I need to know the internal dimensions of the Road King hard panniers.
I am hiring a Road King for a two week road trip and I want to pack some bags so that I can turn up and put them straight into the panniers. I don't want to take too much stuff and find it won't fit.
I would be very grateful if somebody could give me the dimensions. I can't find them quoted anywhere.

Many here will not know panniers, in the US they are just Hard Bags. The measurements on my '03RK are 19"(L) lowest point, 21"(L) at bag lip in length; 6 1/2" usable width at shock absorber notch 7 1/4"(W) for the rest of the bag and roughly 13" deep. These have a roughly 30 degree taper to the front and rear walls and the measurements I quoted are US measure inches.

I've bought a pair of cheap nylon shopping bags. I can mark those dimensions on the bags with a felt pen.
I work in inches (imperial inches over here). I refuse to use anything invented, manufactured or grown by the french.
