I'm picking up my new street glide tomorrow, and I'm already thinking about some paint.
I'm wondering about getting some ghost flames, but I have no idea how much they might cost. Anyone have some flames painted? I'm looking for a general idea here.
Also, if anyone knows of a good bike painter in Central IL, let me know!
Price depends on each painter. Just a guestimate, at least $1500 up to $3000. Every panel of your bike would have to be taken off to be painted... ghost flames really suck as a painter because there is so much sanding envolved if done correctly.

Yeah, I was afraid someone might say that. I could probably swing it over the winter, if it was closer to the lower end.
He sprayed the entire base black. Then he painted the flames in a silver. Then he sprayed the entire tank with Organic Candy Green.
Along with tons of sanding and clear coat, the result was green ghost flames, with a black base that would reflect green in the sunlight. Freakin' awesome. Sometimes wish I had never gotten rid of that bike, but I do love my SG.
