I have a 1999 Ultra Classic low miles, tires maybe 1/4 worn, air pressure at 38 to 40 lbs. everything is tight etc. The problem is when going down say a four lane high way switching lanes if there is any difference in height of the two lanes 1/4" to 1/2" the bike as it travels over this hump you get a unerving wiggle it feels like the front and rear don't track the same, I have owned many other bikes, (Kaw. Nomad, Goldwing.etc) without any problem as this. Please tell me where to start looking for the problem.
I have a 2000 Ultra that does the same thing sometimes ? It will scare the crap out of you when it happens .
Anybody have more info about this problem and is this when the GLIDE-PRO would help ?
Go to the dealer if you can, the steering head bushings might need adjustment. I have read about the wobble before.
Or there is some procedure regarding a lift and allowing the handlebars to rotate freely. Some kind of test. Turn handle bars all the way one direction, and they should float freely to some point other side.
All the way over, too loose,
Not ar enough, too tight.
This is from memory, so someone else must have heard of this...
Are you really givin 'er? I had a bit of a wobble @ 140 km/hr [87 mph] up a hill / cornering. I was passing, and then buddy didn't wanna be passed. [dichk] Any hoow, bit o wobble, and a little white knuckle action. Strong armed through, back break, and slow throttle off.
