Default Soo's extensions got to go

Got some floorboard extension for the 09 RG a while back and sure do like them for comfort. Then I got some Progressive 940's and I love them for the stability I gain in the corners, But with both... I lose too much of my lean angle, so one has to go. Comfort or high speed cornering stability. With the way I ride the logical answer is bye bye Soos.

Are you scraping boards? Did the 940's lower you too much? what is teh actual issue?

Feet on floorboards always,

High speed cornering seldom

Think I'd be keeping the Soos Extensions

Yep I am scrapping, with the Soo's I scraped occasionally, now it is pretty constant. I ride hard and do not want to givwe up the ability to hit the corners aggressively. Maybe when I hit 70 years of age I will decide it is time to slow down a bit, but for now I love to ride hard.

I hear ya bud on hitting 70, I doubt I will make it that far hehe. Wondering are the shocks lower, softer, what changed in the bike that is causing more scraping? Are the shocks softer? More travel?

The shocks lower the rear of the bike by an inch, add that with the loss of lean angle due to the Soo's extensions and I have effectively lost quite a bit of lean. I still have to put the monotubes in the front which will lower it an inch also.

If you try shifting some of your weight to the inside of the bike when cornering I think you'll see you don't have to lean the bike over as far for a given speed. This is how a sportbike is ridden. I'm not suggesting you drag a knee, but give it a try and you might not have to get rid of anything.

This works a lot better on a 450 lb sport bike than a 850 lb touring Harley. Not that it can't be done, but you can't get around physics. A Harley rider needs to stretch before his ride to gain much advantage leaning over the side of his hog. Now if you can teach the passenger to lean as well.......

The reason I haven't installed the Soos is because of the lean angle of my SG. I scrape the boards once in a while and I don't want to lose any more lean than I have to. Still, the 09 frames lean better than the older frames. I used to scrape the boards all the time on my 02 RKC.
