Ok, so this issue started about a week ago, it is getting worse, I thought I'd ask the collective before going into the dealer blind ......
Bike starts ok. RPM, ease up to about 1500 and stays there. Turn the throttle, nothing. I can even clutch, shift to first and roll along in 1st gear. (remember its at 1500 rpm). Shut the bike off. turn it back on. Its back to normal. (there seems to be a certain order for it to correct, Kill Switch then main switch. If I just turn off the main switch, the issue persists).
Like I said, this has been going on for a week now. Last Sat and Sun, it is more frequent. Like every other time I start, it now goes to non responsive throttle mode. However, when this happens, the Check Engine light stays on. When I restart and it runs fine, the CEL stays on for 8 seconds. I checked for DTC, ..... NONE.
Sounds like the dealer needs to hook it up to Digital Tech to see whats wrong.
I know there are a few SG owners here and lots of other who have 08 and later, who have the electronic ignition, just checking to see if anyone else has experienced this strange issue.
I know exactly what it is, specially because of the restart and it works. I could give you a very detailed description but I am at work and I am running late on a project. It has to do with a connector that brings the two sensor information from the throttle to the computer. The connector is behind the air filter and it tends to rust at around 20K. The problem is intermittent. Your bike is goign inot limp mode. Do not waste anytime. Take it to the dealer. They will change the pins in the connector and you will neber have this issue again
