Yesterday evening I dropped my bike off at the paint shop for a makeover. Will be having a reduced effort clutch installed as well. It will look like a new bike when I pick it up but when I go down to the garage and see it not sitting there I feel really strange. The painter said he should have it about a week and the only good thing is the forecast is not all that great with days of rain. Gonna put some Mustang lid covers and fender bib (for when I ride solo) on it and a few other goodies. Getting rid of the tank decals and putting on tank badge from 61-62 model year.

A week! YIKES!! I have separation anxiety when the bike has been at the wrench a night or two! Just think of how good it will look when you get it back... I like the tank emblems! Good Luck!
That gun sight tank logo is my favorite, but it won't fit the 6-gallon tanks properly. (DANG!)
As for the fender bib, if the fender is getting painted as well you may just want to fold a cotton wash cloth under the pillion when you ride 2-up to protect the fender as long as possible. Then go to the bib if necessary, unless you want the bib look. The bib will scuff the finish a bit as well.
I'd like to be getting mine back in a week. I had to sell my '05 EG Classic the at the beginning of last December due to pay cuts at work.
Maybe next spring...
I know what you mean. I had to sell my '03 EG Classic last October for financial reasons also. Was lucky enough to be able to get another one this spring.
Had to learn to talk to the wife while I didn't have one.
Thanks for the heads up. I talked to the painter this AM and he said not to put anything on the paint for at least a month. Actually as long as the paint matches correctly the rear fender is not getting painted. Other than the usual marks from seats just a couple scratches that will be covered by the bib.
