I love the road king, and at 5'6 I feel very comfortable. Maybe its the Santee seat, but it fits me well, is comfortable, and a blast to cruise on a short or a long ride.

Besides, the Heritage don't vibrate! What's up with that sheet?!

If you change out your Street Glide bars to the Heritage bars do the cables need to be changed or is it a simple switch of just the bars????

Not sure but I don't think you can use Heritage bars on a SG bec ause of the fairing. You need to go with a bagger bar which has a specific bend to account for the fairing.

The Werks +2 are heritage style bars for the bikes with the fairings.

We had the same delima for over a year. We liked the looks of the Heritage better but liked the thoughts of a touring bike and i had read all these nightmares about high speed vibes in the B motor. We finally rented a Heritage for a day. Road it for 8 hours just to see what we thought. A week later we bought the Heritage. If the king rides any better id go to sleep and wreck lol. I have nevr noticed the vibe at speeds that i hear about with mine but im sure folks know what they feel so idk. And have also rode for over 300 miles in a day and with no pains or regrets. Both of them are my two favorite bikes on the road but the Heritage just fit me better, good luck with your choice either one will be awsome.

I would have to agree with what I perceive to be the "majority" on this thread. I've owned a Heritage and, while I loved it, immediately felt the "upgrade" and difference in the Road King when I borrowed a friend's for a weekend. The suspension really makes a big difference, and though the RK engine vibrates at idle, it is much smoother at speed than the Heritage. And while I liked the "old school" look of the bags, conchos, tassles that I had done on the Heritage, the class of the RK was just a touch more my style. I think the RK is a more versatile bike with the adjustable shocks, and is the same with regard to removeable windshield and passenger backrest. All in all, I generally tell people to ride these two bikes if there is a question on touring frame vs. Heritage. JMHO....
