What actually is this (AIR) gauge reading? Where is the actual probe located?
The reason I ask is because yesterday we all went on a nice ride but noticed my guage was reading about 100 and when asked, my buddy said his was about 75-80. It was only like 70 degrees out too!
Damn, what will it be reading when the summer roles around and outside air temps top 90!
I recently installed a Stage1 and got a power commander and Jamie sent me a map which I'm using now but not sure that has anything to do with it. The map before this one from jamie was a little rich as was told by some of the guys on the forums here and said Jamies should be just about right' see the maps here: https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touri...perienced.html
Where does your AIR temp guage usually run? Do I have a potential problem? Bike feels and runs great'
The probe is under the fairing. IMHO is a waste of a gauge it only tells you the temp under your fairing. If the sun is beating down on the fairing the temp inside will read high.
It's a useless guage. I've seen mine at 120 before. The actual temp was about 100 and the guage was reading 120. I didn't need a guage to tell me it was hot!
here in the great white north -- gauage useless.. doesnt read below zero !.
if i lick handle bar and tongue sticks to handle bar - then its to cold to ride.. who needs the Gauge... replace with a oil Temp..
