compression PSI
Do any of you folks know about what PSI a compression test should read on a 95'' . My readings are 160 psi on each jug. Does that sound right ? on a stock 88 the psi is 90 ,at least thats what the manual says.
It's been 25+ years since I've worked around air-cooled [aircraft] engines. 160# is excellent compression, & would be regarded as 'good' or "serviceable" down to 80# or so.
The real issue is not the total compression, but whether the 2 jugs are within 7-10 pounds of each other. I recall we rebuilt our individual aircraft engines when the compression dropped below 70 pounds or if the jugs were not within 10 lbs of each other.

I took compression readings after I had broke the motor in.
197 psi in both cylinders. wish I would have taken reading of my stock motor before I tore it down for the 103 kit.
