Default Jiffy Stand Spring

While using my Craftsman jack this morning I knocked the spring off the jiffy stand when I let my bike down. Anyway, WHERE does it attach to the frame? I see the spot on the jiffy stand but I can't "feel" anything when I run my hand under the frame where the spring might attach. I wanna go for a ride! Oh yea, 2007 Road King Classic. Help!!

There should be a hole in your frame.

There is a hole in the bottom of your frame tube.

You probably already know the trick of using dimes between the spring coils to extend and attach it, but I use pennies ...... 'cuz I'm cheap.

I just had to do the same thing,I found out it is easier to put the spring back on if you have the kickstand in the up posistion. I tied mine up with twine then put the spring into the frame hole and pulled the other end to hole in the tab on the kickstand. I don't even think I had to use a tool. Try that and see how it goes.

Hole in frame, spring has probably got to point down to get it hooked. Stand up, I use a pair of WR-10 vise grips. Easy and cheesie!
Inspect it as it is easily damaged. I've replaced mine twice in the last ten months due to bottoming or catching it on something.

hd4evr2008: I had to go take a look myself. It is not that obvious - just a machined hole on the bottom of the end plate located about an inch from the forward end. I had never heard of using coins to extend the spring; learned some new things. Thanks.
