Im 5'9" and have a 12" clockwerks. I loveit, i am able tp look over it in rain or snow and hidefrom the hail. I wear a ff helmet with flipup and cam ride all day with visor open andup to 65ish with helmet open if its real hot. Stock one sux
I'm 6'0" and have a Cee Baileys 16" Euro on my '02. I see over it. Before that I had a 15" HD screen that I cut about 1 1/2 inches off of (edge got in my line of sight before I cut it). I like the Euro better - looks and function.
Something to think about - if you get a windshield that you look through, it is really going to suck in you get stuck in traffic in the rain. A wet Harley motor makes one very efficient steam generator and that steam will fog the snot out of the windshield. Don't ask how I know.
Couldn't get used to looking thru a shield on my last bike, or this bike....
I wasn't long pulling the stock shield off my '08 and replacing it with
a 10" dark smoked screen.
I am 6'3" w/ 36" inseams, with an Ultra seat........majority of the wind
and road debris sails over my melon. Occasionally a bug or flying object
will find its way around my shield, and impale itself on my face.
I don't have a Road GLide but I do prefer looking through the shield. I have the 10" HD shield and normally look through it. If I sit up really straight I can look over it but seldom do.
I'm 5'11 & use a low cut Mustang seat. I can't imagine how tall a shield for have to be to look "through" it, it would probably look something like a Goldwing.
I'm 5' 10" the stock shield cut my line of sight. I have an 08 RG with the stock seat. My Clearview GT Small is perfect for me. I can see over it and I get good protection and no buffeting.
If I do any extended cold weather riding I might go for a taller shield but I really rather look over the top than through it.
05 Road Glide Clearview +1 I'm 5 ft 8 inches, with 28 inseam, so I have a long torso.
I look over the shield....
I've ridden in monsoonal rain, and had no problem.
I've ridden in heavy fog, and had no problem
