Hey, I got my first RG. It came with a stubby windsheild, looks great, but I'm going to need something more for the highway. I saw they have a wind splitter. Has anyone tried this and does it work well? I'm 5'9", and could use some tips. Thanks Jim
Buying a windshiled for a Road Glide can be a pain. You want the shield to look cool but you also want protection. Some people have purchased two or three before they found one that fit them. Others have more than one shield and switch depending on the weather or type of riding they are doing.
I read all the threads on RG windshiields and talked to other RG owners. I called windshiled makers and picked their brains before I ordered my Clearview GT small. I'm 5' 10" and the shield is perfect for me.
Even though I am happy with the shield I have I am always looking at what is coming out that I might want to try.
Good luck.
Hi Your RG looks good with the tour pak on there. Is it detachable? Your windsheild height looks like the stock 16". Do you know what the measurement is? The new smoked wind splitter is 12", I think I had to waste another $170. I should probable plan on keeping two and sell the stubby 5".
I installed the new Harley windshield on my glide; Had to adjust to the look for a few days but it was a good upgrade for me over the shorty!, I'm your height and it took just that much air off my face/helmet, I still look way over the shield and do get clean air which is exactly what I was hoping for. Put the roadie chrome moulding on at same time; now thing was designed by a Harley hater!!

What does now thing was designed by a Harley hater mean? Is the radio any clearer at higher speeds now?
