Default road glide wind shield

looking into shields for my RG, after about 20 miles i remember why stock didn't cut it. i ran a klock werks 8'' on my last RG and liked it.

wondering if there is another option i should look at this time? i don't want a tall shield. 8'' max and i want it black not tinted.

I really like my Windvest windshield. I know that you don't want to go over 8", but a short shield of any style will put a lot of wind in your face. I went with a 10" and it juuuusstt barely had some wind hitting my head. Switched out to 12" and I ride in my own little bubble.

I have the Klock Werks 8" Sports Flare on my RG. I love it. Worth every penny. Klock Werks knows windshields. You really can't go wrong with their stuff. If money is the obstacle, I would suggest not going cheap on something that makes the ride so much more comfortable.

I'm going to get a Madstad when I have the spare coin.

Head over here (http://www.roadglide.org/forumdisplay.php?f=23), theres a ton of obsessive discussion about Road Glide windshields happening there.

But from the looks of your bike, I'm guessing a Madstad is not anywhere in your future, lol

i didnt really get wind w/ my 8'', i put a 10'' on my last one just to test but it hit the apes, so i def not going that route because i'll be installing apes soon.

Check out Freedom Shields...I put on a 11" for my 15 RGS this weekend and very happy with it...great quality...30% thicker than stock. John is great to deal with and can set you up and help you evaluate what you need. They were running a 10% discount for forum members when I bought mine.

Before jumping on a different shield, why the switch. If its buffeting, get a set of sanchos wings first.

I agree with Roadsterglide on the Freedom Shield. I did my research last year and put on the 10 inch. It's nicely finished, looks great and is strong - John Lauk makes them by hand and is great to deal with.
