I just purchased a 2011 Roadglide CVO mdl, my 32nd Harley. With the standard 16" Harley windshield I am looking directly at the top edge, get wind buffeting on my helmet and a lot of wind noise. Does the 14" Windvest stop the buffeting and reduce wind noise? Any help you can provide on this brand or another alternative will be appreciated.
Your confusing us. Your 32nd HD and you ask a question like this? And why would you want a WV when your RG has a fairing and shield?? My bet is, if you try a different helmet, you will feel a major difference. Also, that sounds like the correct height for your windshield, you want your line of sight to be right over the top of the shield.
You might want to do a search on this subject. Lots of factors for RG owners. Since your CVO has lowers, that settles one issue, however, it will have a lot to do with your height, and posture on the bike. I have a Clearview Med. for touring, but have no experience with the WV. There seems to be quite a few happy customers with that windshield though. Good luck. Congrats on the new CVO Roady. I'm jealous!
I have a 2010 Road Glide Custom.... I have a 12" windvest..... perfect for me. 5' 11" and
I look over the shield.... Yes you do get some wind, BUT it is clean, NOT Buffeting. Also
have a between the forks wind deflector. Alot of wind comes from under the shark nose.
hope this helps..............hdman
I have the 12" windwvest. Huge improvement over stock. I'm 5'7" with a low seat and I could probably still see over the windshield if I went to the 14". Now all I need is the lowers to reduce the wind/buffeting that comes from underneath.
If anyone knows of some other wind deflectors besides the lowers, can you provide a link?
the old concept of one needs to look over the shield ended when windshields could b designed without distortion. I have a 4f 20'' shield on my EG. I get no buffing, bugs, or water in the face.
