So mu dealer has an 03 rk annversery model. 52,000 miles 95 kit not sure if cams. Couple of little things like chrome front end. Looks to be in real good shape. There asking 11,900 which is high. Nada avg retail say 9,825. Is this the price I should be shooting for or lower? Thx
for comparison, I just picked up an 03 anniversary RKC, with 11k miles. 88 inch with stage 1, pristine stock condition, original seat, backrest, bags, etc... for $9250. I sold an '08 Fatboy to get this.
if you are into the 03 annivesary editions - make them a lowball offer. all they can do is say no.
I got it from a HD dealer. they had it listed at $11,500.
like I said, go low.... you can always up your offer. you can't go down.
can you see what bikes sold for on eBay? I'm not that familiar with it. just don't look at someone's asking price, people ask too much, like these bikes are collectables.
IMHO the 03 Anniversary editions are worth no more than a bike without all the decals and emblems, those bikes were sold at the top of the market, at top price, and there were zillions of them sold. There is nothing special about them.
Offer them low retail on a 2002 model and see if they don't bite.
The market is flooded with used bikes, it is a buyers market.

I agree, a REAL 03 anniversary edition bike isn't worth any more than a "regular" 03.... aesthetically, it's only for those that like the badges, decals and special colors that makes it an anniversary edition.
As far as color scheme it beats the heck out of the 105th but I wouldn't go a dime over $9,500.00. Like said check ebay but better yet check craigslist in your area.
I don't care who thinks the 03 is worth what. I bought mine because the color scheme is bad ***, the ride is good and lower than the new ones and my wife was more comfortable on it than the 09 or 08 I test rode. I got it with 8400 miles on it and plan to put at least another 50K on the odometer before getting a new one. Ride what makes you happy.
Have an '03 FLTHI. Don't pay a premium for the '03 because it's a 100th aniversary model. Because of the tough economy, this is a buyers market. Push every dealer hard and walk away from anything that is not a bargain.
