A buddy of mine is getting a 1999 Electra Glide Classic today. This bike has 7800 miles on it. It looks great and runs great. Still has the original stock tires on it.
We are going to replace the tires with Elite3's. I know the front and rear stock sizes are MT90-16.
My question is will an MU90-16 fit on the rear?

The MU is a little wider than the MT by .42 of an inch. Nearly 1/2 inch wider. Will there be any clearance issues due to the wider width of the MU90 over the MT90 on the rear?
Thanks for any information that you can provide.
I have a 99 RKC, same frame, just put an E3 on it this spring, I have the MU90B16 on it and it just barly fit, but it fits with no rubbing.
Terry
Did you have to move the belt guard? Or did you just install it in place of the MT90-16 with no mods?
He needs to order the tires today and I was going to tell him to get the MU90-16 if it fits with no problem
I used an Avon MU/140 in the rear of my bike and had to modify the belt guard where the tyre and belt meet. Things get very close in there and clearance seems to vary between bikes and brands of tyre. It is worth doing it because the MU is better when riding 2-up and fully loaded.
