Crimson Red Sunglo Paint Touchup

Crimson Red Sunglo Paint Touchup
Got two large size chips on the nose of my RKC fender I need to touchup. I understand it's a three coat process, base, top, and clear. When I bought the bike the dealer gave me the 1/2 oz. bottles of top and clear but no base. I assume I will need to get my hands on the base to do it right. The research I have done tells me the the crimson red sunglo base has the gold flake in it.
If anyone out there has gone through this process, I could use some help. The instructions on the top coat bottle just say to apply over the base coat. Does it matter how many coats of base are applied to get a good match?
Has anyone come up with a good method of getting the touched up area to match reasonably well?
The chips are fairly large so I have to try and do the best job I can.
Thanks....
